The full mattress dimensions (54 inches wide, 75 inches long) are best suited to single people, or perhaps single parents sharing a bed with a young child. They are substantially smaller than queens, so a full will also fit in better in a smaller space, such as a studio apartment.

If you are a compatible, married couple it is possible. If you are just 2 unrelated individuals who are just good friends it is much harder unless you both have the same lifestyle and common interests and work and play schedules and are considerate of your housemate.

Consideration must also be given to state and local laws regarding occupancy standards. Some states have more lenient occupancy standards than federal guidelines. For example, California statutes allow two persons per bedroom plus one more.
