In our restaurant, in Paris, Texas, you are sitting in what was formerly known as "cotton country"! You see, cotton was the crop of the South. The term "high cotton" meant that the crops were good and the prices were, too. This meant good times for all as the local economy boomed. It didn't mean you were necessarily rich, but you did have enough to buy your kids a new pair of shoes or some new clothes.
Our parents, grandparents and great-grandparents and all of their kinfolk picked cotton, so this term is one we were accustomed to growing up. High Cotton is Southern vernacular for "good times"! So join us for some awesome comfort food and Southern hospitality - at High Cotton Kitchen, we want to provide a place where you can share some good times with your friends and family!
