  2. Pick of the stats

    FT: Chelsea 4-2 Leicester

    • Excluding shootouts, Raheem Sterling has failed to score with five of his last seven penalties across his time with Manchester City and Chelsea, including each of his last two attempts.
    • Chelsea have lost just one of their last 14 games at Stamford Bridge in all competitions (W10 D3), winning seven of their last nine games there, including each of the last three.
    • This is also the sixth time in the last eight seasons that Chelsea have reached at least the semi-finals of the FA Cup, while they’ve scored at least three goals in four different games in a single FA Cup campaign for the first time since 2006-07 (also four).

  4. 'The main target is the Championship'

    FT: Chelsea 4-2 Leicester

FA Cup quarter-final: Chelsea beat Leicester 4-2 in thriller (2)

    Leicester City

Leicester manager Enzo Maresca to BBC One: "We don't like to lose games, but the effort and performance was very good. We scored twice but then the red card completely changed the dynamic.

"Overall the team was playing good. We didn't lose our identity.

"You have to defend very deep, that is something I don't like because you suffer too much. But then it is probably best to not have extra-time and injuries, because for us the main target is the Championship.

"Unfortunately we have many players who will leave for the international break, but we are going to use that to recharge because in the Championship there are too many games.

"In this season you probably need 100 points to get promoted. There is no league in the world where you need around 100 points to get promoted. It is what it is and we need to adapt."

  5. 'Fans need to trust me to manage'

    FT: Chelsea 4-2 Leicester

FA Cup quarter-final: Chelsea beat Leicester 4-2 in thriller (3)

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino to BBC One: "That is football, that is the beauty of the FA Cup. First of all we really deserved to qualify for the semi-final."

On fans booing Raheem Sterling: "We need to support him, he's an amazing player. He has more than 10 years experience in the Premier League. Of course I think the contribution was good. He was a little bit unlucky with some actions where he should have scored. But we are a team and we need to be there for everyone.

"Fans are entitled to show their emotion. For us we try to emphasise with our fans not to criticise. They want the best for our team and players. But we are in a project. We need support and to really believe. We are trying to build something.

"We are in a process to build the team. I know really well how to manage. What the fans want is to win the game and that we achieved. What the fans want is to go to Wembley and that we achieved. They need to trust me to manage in the way I think is the best way for the club.

"We need to respect their opinion as much as they need to respect my decision."

If you were a neutral, it was nice to see. A lot of mistakes, a lot of miss-placed passes, a lot of counters. The final pass was there to be capitalised on.

"The only thing we changed in the second half was staying together and keep pushing. We just have to keep going, that's what we did after.

"We already know the FA Cup is very important for the club. It's a big trophy in England, everyone knows. We just have to keep pushing every game to win this trophy."

Chelsea midfielders Cole Palmer and Carney Chukwuemeka to BBC One. Palmer: "Hard work. We know what Leicester are like, they are a top team, play good football. A difficult afternoon, glad to get back to Wembley.

Chukwuemeka: "The coach said go on and express yourself, which I did. Cole said to me before the game, if I come on, he will assist me and fair play. His IQ is amazing, I knew as soon as I played it, he would find me. Fair play to him.

Palmer: "Try and help the team as much as possible, in tough moments, in good moments, that's what I'm there for.

Palmer on England: "I'm looking forward to it, my second time with England, it will be great to see the lads.

I think Cole Palmer has the IQ of the game and he likes the game. He feels the game, he understands and take the responsibility. The next step for him is to do that on a higher level.
