The way the physics, English and History was taught - interactive, with discussions was wonderful. The history teacher actually has a very wonderful method of teaching - by showing political cartoons and the discussions are based around that. I also heard that the food is great! There is a bus from Andover and North Andover area which is very very helpful.... A huge part of Xaverian is athletics. I was very challenged in most of my subjects, and stayed at Thayer for more hours a day. School starts at 8:00am and ends at 3:30, then sports start. If you are also a participant in the school play or musical, you will often be there until 7:00 or 8:00pm. I went from a small school where I was ending school at 2:00 and going home to, sometimes, 12 hour days at my school. It is definitely a big time commitment; but if I'm being honest, I love it. I love the resources that being at Thayer gives me, and I love the community. I have made some of my closest friends here, and have even gotten close with the teachers. I am excited to continue my experience here and look forward to making more memories....
